Description

These Baked Cranberry Turkey Sliders are a perfect sweet-and-savory handheld treat, ideal for using up Thanksgiving leftovers or serving as a crowd-pleasing appetizer. Tender turkey breast meets tangy cranberry sauce and melted cheese on soft Hawaiian rolls, brushed with a flavorful butter and Dijon mustard glaze, then baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 12 slider rolls (such as Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 pound sliced cooked turkey breast (deli or leftover)
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 6 slices Swiss or provolone cheese (halved)

Glaze

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Assemble Sliders: Slice the slider rolls horizontally, keeping them connected as a single slab. Place the bottom halves of the rolls flat in the prepared baking dish. Layer evenly with the sliced turkey breast, then spread the whole berry cranberry sauce over the turkey layer. Arrange the halved cheese slices on top, then cover with the top halves of the rolls.
  3. Make and Apply Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and garlic powder to create a flavorful glaze. Generously brush this mixture over the tops of the slider rolls, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Bake Covered: Cover the assembled sliders with foil to retain moisture and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the cheese to start melting.
  5. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until the tops of the rolls turn golden brown and develop a slightly crisp texture.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes to set before slicing into individual sandwiches. Serve warm for best flavor.

Notes

  • Great way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers in a new and delicious way.
  • For added texture and flavor, add a thin layer of stuffing between the turkey and cranberry sauce.
  • Serve with warm gravy on the side for dipping to enhance the savory experience.
